Choose2Reuse or Choose2Not Bother

Choose2Reuse Campaign

The Defra funded Choose2Reuse campaign is in its final year having already delivered three campaigns focusing on promoting community reuse. The Choose2Reuse campaign is delivered by a partnership of three voluntary organisations, led by The Association of Charity Shops.

Currently the campaign is being trialled in 7 counties that constitute the Anglia region: Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire and Suffolk. We have had approximately 500 outlets from 45 charitable organisations involved in the campaign.

Year 3 Campaign Update

With the next phase of the project we will be launching Choose2Reuse@Work mid October 2007 and in January 2008 we will be repeating the previously successful Green Santa Roadshow events.

In addition to this the Choose2Reuse brand has been licensed to North Yorkshire County Council who will be leading the promotion of community reuse in the York and North Yorkshire area commencing January 2008.

Other Charities and community groups across the country from the Midlands to Northern Ireland have adopted the branding as part of their promotional activities.

Sue Ryder Care and Scope are ardent supporters having incorporated details of the campaign in their own promotional literature.

In particular we are keen to help Local Authorities within the area to engage with the campaign more fully. Previously we have focused only on the county and unitary authorities and this year we have contacted all 62 of the local authorities with a view to:

  • The Local Authorities holding Choose2Reuse events at their council offices
  • Promoting and instigating Choose2Reuse events at other local employers
  • Supporting the campaign on their websites, internal and external publications, utilising the previously created Choose2Reuse radio adverts.
  • Holding Green Santa Events of their own within their locality in January 2008.
